KS1 and KS2 tuition: building strong foundations

Discover how West Ewell Tuition Centre provides personalised learning for your child in Key Stage 1 and 2, focusing on confidence, progress, and a love for learning.

Our unique approach to primary learning

At West Ewell Tuition Centre, our KS1 and KS2 tuition truly stands out due to the personal attention each child receives. We keep our groups small, ensuring children are not simply working through the same worksheets at the same pace. We identify where each child needs support and adapt the learning to suit their individual needs.

Structured and supportive

Our "secret sauce" is making learning structured, encouraging and enjoyable. We focus on building strong foundations in Maths and English while developing confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.

Carefully crafted resources

We use carefully selected and specially created resources, lots of practice, clear explanations and regular feedback. This ensures a comprehensive and effective learning experience.

Understanding, not memorising

Most importantly, we want children to understand what they are learning rather than simply memorise answers. We celebrate their progress, build on their strengths and give them the confidence to take those skills back into the classroom.

Who benefits from our KS1 and KS2 tuition?

Our approach is designed to support a wide range of primary school children, helping them to thrive academically and personally.

Tailored support for every child

We support a wide range of KS1 and KS2 children, but our approach is especially helpful for those who need extra confidence, have gaps in their learning or benefit from more individual attention than they may receive in a busy classroom.

Specific learning needs and exam preparation

We particularly support children who are struggling with phonics, reading, spelling, writing or core Maths skills, as well as pupils who are working below their expected level. We also work with children who are doing well at school but need greater challenge and extension.

For older primary pupils, we can provide more focused preparation for SATs and 11+, strengthening both subject knowledge and exam confidence. Because our groups are small, we can adjust the level and pace for each child, helping them progress without making learning feel overwhelming.

Visible progress and lasting confidence

Parents can expect to see significant positive changes in their children after tuition with us, extending beyond just academic scores.

Increased confidence and independence

Parents can expect to see their child become more confident, independent and secure in their learning. As gaps are identified and addressed, children often begin to approach schoolwork with a more positive attitude and greater willingness to try.

Academic achievements in English and Maths

In English, improvements may include stronger reading and comprehension, better phonics and spelling, a wider vocabulary and more confident writing. In Maths, children can develop stronger number skills, quicker recall, improved problem-solving and a clearer understanding of key concepts.

Our aim is not simply to improve marks. We want children to understand what they are learning, feel proud of their progress and develop skills that transfer back into the classroom. Regular practice and feedback also help parents understand where their child is progressing and where further support may be needed.
